About Bigg Boss

Sustainability

Hardware built to last is, itself, a sustainability decision. But we don't stop there.

A lock that's re-pinned instead of replaced, and a mechanism engineered to survive 200,000 cycles instead of a fraction of that, keeps material out of landfill for decades. That durability has always been core to how we design — but it's not the whole picture.

Responsibly sourced brass

Our primary cylinder brass is sourced from suppliers meeting recognised responsible-metals standards, with an increasing share of recycled content each year.

Lower-impact finishing

Our Nuremberg facility has moved to a closed-loop water system for electroplating and finishing, reducing both water use and discharge.

Repairable by design

Cylinders and multipoint mechanisms are built from replaceable components, so a single worn part doesn't require discarding the whole unit.

Local manufacturing

Producing in Nuremberg for our core European markets keeps shipping distances — and the associated emissions — short.

What we're working on

We're currently expanding recycled-content brass across the full product range and piloting take-back arrangements with specialist dealers for end-of-life hardware. Updates will be published here and in our News section as these programmes mature.
